Nvidia-Backed Nscale Raises $2 Billion Ahead of Planned IPO
British AI infrastructure firm Nscale has secured $2 billion in Series C funding, catapulting its valuation to $14.6 billion. The round was spearheaded by Norway's Aker and 8090 Industries, with participation from tech heavyweights including Nvidia, Citadel, Dell, and Jane Street.
The company, which provides AI computing power through its proprietary data centers and GPU clusters, counts Microsoft and OpenAI among its key clients. Former Meta executives Sheryl Sandberg and Nick Clegg are joining the board alongside ex-Yahoo president Susan Decker, signaling Nscale's ambition to dominate the AI infrastructure space.
Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan have been tapped as underwriters for an impending IPO. The fresh capital will fuel expansion of data center capacity to meet growing demand from enterprise AI developers.
